St Johns 0-12 Dundrum 1-8
ACFL Division 3 Sunday 16 October 2011 @ St Johns St Johns hosted Dundrum on a fantastic Sunday afternoon in perfect conditions for a football match. The Johnnies started in fine form with Chris McKay knocking over three points one of which was a free kick, Dundrum conjured up only 6 attacks in the first half and got a point from a free kick and a goal after a brilliant save from Darren McMullan was rebounded into the net.
St Johns on the other half had 15 attacks in the first half but registered 8 wide’s. Conor Morgan added a left footed free midway through the half of the ground. Martin Keenan was introduced midway through the half and added a point shortly after coming on for Alan Henderson. The half time score was 0-5 to 1-1, going into the second half Dundrum began to up the tempo although the Johnnies kept pushing on and a well worked piece of play across the pitch seen Danny McKay add the first point of the half.
Chris McKay, Keenan added two points in a row each although again many opportunities were missed throughout the half. Dundrum converted 0-5 from free kicks in the second half and with a tight finish Conor Burns added a good point and Martin Keenan added the last point to leave the Johnnies winners in the end with the final score 0-12 to 1-8. |
