St Johns 2-8 Ardglass 3-15 Monday 18 July 2011 Connolly Cup Semi Final @ Ballykinlar A late flurry of scores from holders Ardglass gave them a 3-15 to 2-8 over the seniors on Monday night at Ballykinlar. Ardglass started the game the strongest andquickly went in to a 0-4 to 0-0 lead but St Johns soon got the scores back on level terms, thanks in part to a goal by Chris McKay. The Johnnies played their best football in the later part of the first half and were unlucky to go in at the break trailing by a point with Ardglass leading 2-6 to 2-5. St Johns second goal was scored by Marty Keenan. St Johns scored the first three points of the second half but it was after this that Ardglass took control of the game to run out convincing winners in the end on a scoreline of 3-15 to 2-8. |
