The Under 16s lost to Darragh Cross by 6 points. Aided by the breeze in the first half they went in at half time leading 1-7 to 1-6 with Conor Gilmore (0-5) and Aidan Morgan (1-2) getting the scores.

The sides traded scores at the start of the second half but then some costly errors and easy turnovers took its toll and Darragh pushed on and the young Johnnies were unable to keep in touch despite a goal from Colm Kelly.
Leaving the final score 2-16 to 2-10.
